| Hi, the mark reads in Chinese: Kangxi Nian Zhi - Kangxi Period Made. Kangxi period was 1662-1722, the second emperor of Qing dynasty. In terms of real date - it is a later vase, export ware. The mark is badly written, the quality of the underglaze-blue decoration is not comparable to the Kangxi period, and the shape of the vase is not entirely what one should expect from a Kangxi piece. | I am trying to identify the markings on my vase (picture at the attached link). Any help would be much appreciated. It was given to a family member in the 20s or 30s by a chinese women who said it was a family heirloom. It was sent to Melbourne, Aust in the 80s for testing to determine its age and was said to be over 400 years old. I have a certificate that states this. Any advice would be great. Thanks. |
