How to clean body oils from antique oak

I have an antique oak pie safe that I want to pickle. It was stripped 14 years ago, but never sealed, so there is body oil accumulations around the knobs and handles. How do I clean it without ruining the wood?

Mineral spirits....but "pickle-ing" an antique piece ruins any value any how.

I never plan to sell it. It's a family piece, and the original finish was removed, alomg with two layers of paint. Plus, it had to have extensive repairs for termite damage. It's just a sentimental piece.
