Help indentifing furniture

Posted by wyattearp_ns (My Page) on

I have recently purchased 2 pieces of furniture. Both I am assuming are reproductions of actual antiques. Both are made of solid wood with gold guild. Handles on the dresser appear to be either leaf or clam shape design and have a unique crackle finish paint job with floral designs.

I am wondering if anyone knows anything about the style furniture and roughly the value.

This is my first time doing this, hopefully it worked.
Thanks

Repro French Rocaille stuff....with some extra flourishes and gilt trim. Sort of Louis XV on steroids. LOL!
It appears very well made, and likely was very expensive when new. I believe there was an upsurge in that style in the late 1950's.
Sorry I have mo idea of value.

Thanks for the info lindac, it will help in my search online. I have been trying to find anything like it with no luck in the past few days. But hearing "French Rocaille" and "louis XV" will show new leads I'm sure. Thanks again for your time Linda C.
