Middle Eastern Brass Bowl

Posted by mhwelsh (My Page) on

I was wondering if anyone can help me with information about this bowl. I bought it at an estate sale with other Persian and/or Turkish brass items. There was a Persian man there that we were bidding against and he came up to us after the sale asking us to sell him the item and name a price. Of course we have no idea!

I believe the item is vintage. It is hammered brass. There is writing on the side. If anyone can offer any information or advice I would welcome the input!

Thank you

Can you show a better focused picture of the writing on the bowl

and a picture of the whole bowl, including something so we can tell size?

The written script appear to be Farsi. Farsi text is written from right to left, but numbers are from left to right. An Iranian may be able to read the inscription.
