I just google what I am looking for....and doing that have found Gothborg for Japanese and Chinese porcelains and 925-1000 for silver marks and Patternglass.com for EAPG....and Ruby Lane for lots of things....etc etc...
One site often leads to another....and ebay for looking and checking what some stuff is out there.

Can you believe it . I have been a member of gotheborg for years and .. I stumped them this last week on my two 'pre-nippon' porcelain cream and sugar pieces!?

I found the answer on one of your reference sites .. Ebay's glass and pottery forum! (Those folks know their stuff)

I also use Google as a first resort.
