Portmeirion china

Does anyone know the significance of the pottery mark on the underside of the pieces? Some have a small green circle and some have a larger orange circle. Does a particular mark make some pieces more desirable to collectors?

Mona, you can get even more information on either www.portmeirion.tv, an older collectors site which gives information on older motifs and backstamps, you could also see www.james-antique.com, with very much information on portmeirion motifs and backstamps, esp botanic garden, pomona and birds of britain.
good luck, Lia
