It's probably maple or birch and is post-war to 1950s era.

It is in the manner of Heywood Wakefield but it looks a bit different from HW. Could be Conant Ball, Russel Wright, John Keal, or a knock off of the era.

I've seen these used as study desks in homes and schools in the 1940s qnd 1950s.. It came in both right hand and left hand side drawers. Typical uses were study desk, correspondence and bill paying, typewriter station, etc.

The right side legs, the long ones: Are these made of metal? I do not think those are wood. These appear to be steel tubing that has been formed and bent. A popular finish was bronze colored paint or colored anodizing. The anodized finish was more durable because it resists chipping better than paint.

the legs are wood and were probably heated in a steam box and then bent to shape as they too like the drawer bottom and sides are one piece but layered.
