| I have a pitcher and wash bowl by the Willets Manufacturing Co of Trenton NJ. I know it dates between 1879 - 1909, but I would like to be more specific on the date period. They used a few different stamps, and this is the one in the octagon (W. M. Co ) with Semi above and Porcelain below. It's the only one that I haven't been able to put a time period to.
Anyone here have info on the dates Willets used the octagon shape back stamp? |

| It's on page 152 of Kovels' New Dictionary of Marks but says 1879-1909 (1879-1962) So they may have closed for short time & reopened or reorganized, had a fire or who knows. No date give as to when this backstamp was used. Sorry! |

| From what I've learned, Willets used the Semi Porcelain octagonal back stamp only on their semi porcelain pieces, most likely throughout the 1879-1906 period. So I will advertise it as such. They used different marks on different products. If anyone learns something different, I would love to hear from you. |
