Seeking more info about this painting and it's artist named TUNIS

ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE PROVENANCE OF THIS PAINTING OR A 20th CENTURY ARTIST WHO SIGNED HIS WORKS "TUNIS"?
I am settling my mom's estate and among her cherishables is this large oil painting of CANADA GEESE signed by an artist named TUNIS. Supposedly living at the time she purchased the painting in the late 1970's. It is still in storage, so no photos available other than the ones attached. I have googled and can only find Dutch artists named TEunis (with an e) pre-20th century. There is a 20th century artist now dead named Tunis Ponsen but geese weren't his genre.

Can't help you with the artist, but it is a beautiful painting that I think would have a good market.

Could this be your painter - Tunis Ponsen?

"Dutch born painter, Tunis Ponsen, was highly prolific during his professional years, 1930 to 1967. His methods included oil paintings on canvas, watercolors, and an extremely limited number of single-color lithographs and linoleum block prints.

Ponsen painted images that captured his heart and now evoke for some viewers, emotions of nostalgia. From landscapes depicting the verdant rolling fields of western Michigan and eastern seaboard water scenes, to still lifes and florals, compelling (showing 500 of 7510 characters)."

He also lived and was active in Illinois.
