Greek revival chest?

Really classy gramophone cabinet?

A gramophone cabinet is my guess. If it is a gramophone cabinet, there should be a place for the machine at the top of the cabinet. The lower spaces would have been used to store 75 rpm sized recordings.

Gramophones made for locations without electric power were hand cranked, wind-up affairs. Some provision was made to allow the crank to stick out the right side (beyond the cabinet). On some caninets, the machine slid outward and the crank unfurled. On other designs, the crank stuck our through a hole in the cabinet. On other designs, enough depth was allowed for comfortable cranking inside the cabinet.

The decroations on the front of this cabinet fits the theme of music making and merriment.
