Looking for information on a Furniture Maker

I recently purchased an old vanity, and while I was loading it, I found a tag on the bottom of it that said it was made by "Helmers Manufacturing Company" in Kansas City, Missouri. I have been searching all over the internet but have not been able to find much out about this furniture maker.

I am hoping that there is someone out there who knows a little about the company, and maybe what something made by them would be worth.

I wish I had a picture to post of it, but I don't. I might try to add one when I get off work today. Its a really interesting piece of furniture, however a previous owner decided to spray paint it black (and did a very poor job of it). Hopefully I'll be able to bring it back to its original glory.

If anyone has any information regarding Helmers furniture, I would greatly appreciate it.
