An item by Tiffany is very clearly marked.

It is in the style of Tiffany.

Can you tell me where on the shade marking would be? Is this a copy of a Tiffany design , put on a Tiffany base? Thanks..

The Tiffany markings would be on the base and the shade. There are lots of these type of lamps. I have two in my home. Based on my experience with estate sales, these people don't sell $50,000 lamps for what you paid for your lamp.

LOL Never thought it was a 50,000 lamp....The estate was run by a very elderly mans family, he had many lovely things for sale..Thought this was pretty and paid probably what one would pay for a Dale Tiffany lamp at Home Depot. It has sat for 10 years, curious to who made it...The mushroom base and finial are identical to the ones in the Tiffany book, just wondered if someone made copies of the base .....Or replaced a broken shade...

Looks like you have a lamp 'in the tiffany style'. These used to be very popular, I made a couple in a stained glass class I took in the 1980s.

Definitely not a Tiiffany lamp. Tiffany used very striking glass in very intricate patterns. Most of the caps on his lamps very decoratively pierced as well. mfrog
