Here is the front of the arm section. The arms are curved toward the back, but the carving on the front was interesting.

The curved arm settee form dates to the Renaissance revival period (1860-75), but this example is much later than that, and you can see an art nouveau grace to the foliate carvings; 1910-15-ish. It was part of a parlor suite that included his and hers chairs, and perhaps matching side chairs.

Considering your settee is over 100 years old it seems to be in good shape, wonder how many times it has been reupholstered?
This pic is my arm chair, I also have matching side chairs. They sat in my ggrandparent's parlor along with palms and fernery. The original covering was black horsehair. I'm happy that they have their original porcelain casters.
The walnut detail is actually applied. You can still get certain applique today in restoration catalogues.

Nope, not Victorian, Eastlake! Eastlake was a design reaction to the overworked furniture of the Victorians. To modern eyes it still seems rather busy, but in comparison to Victorian, it is much simpler. Try searching for information from that direction.
