Simon & Halbig doll

Hi - I am looking for more information on this Simon & Halbig doll, mold #919. She is 26" long and was new in 1927. We had her restored, including re-stringing and repainting in 2005. I haven't been able to find much information on this particular S&H mold. I am wondering how rare she is and value. I'm also wondering how best to keep her - we like to keep her out where we can see her, but she does get dusty that way. She is in her undies tonight because I am going to (gently) was her clothes tomorrow.

I didn't find it in my books either. They were considered some of finest dolls made so should be listed somewhere. She's a charmer! Enjoy!

Well, I did some research tonight - and got the courage up to unglue some of the wig on the back of her head. She is actually a 949 S15 H. Anything in your books about that? It seems more common.

She is an excellent example of a closed-mouth German doll. It isn't a "common" doll due to her size, being closed rather than open mouth, and a somewhat hard to find mold number. Having her original wig and clothing would add to her value, somewhat. Most of the value is in the head and it being free of cracks, chips or repairs.
As was mentioned, a closed glass cabinet would be a great way to keep her safe while being able to enjoy her. The less done to an antique doll and the original clothes, the better. I have no idea of her value since I have been out of collecting for several years. Are you interested in selling the doll?
