This relic seems quite old! I've found other canons online, but not this one. Any canon experts on here?

BTW, if you try to research this online, it's "cannon" not canon.
Is there a screw device to bring the barrel up so the projectile would not be fired into the ground?

It is approximately 8.5" x 5". It was purchased at an antique shop in Italy. The barrel moves up and down easily. I don't see a screw device.

Decorative piece of unknown age ... unless you can find a maker's mark that can be dated.

It could be anywhere from 2 to 200 years old.
