I think the paint is a later addition by a previous owner - it's not factory-neat.

It looks very 1930s-40s modern to me: the bowed support making room for feet when the leaves are out, and the fluted legs are characteristic of that era.

Thank-you lazygardens. I bought the table a few years ago from a 60 year old man who said it was his grandmothers so the era would fit. I couldn't pin a style to it. I found some Art Deco pieces with the rounded corners, but I knew it wasn't a true Deco style.
