Wild differences in prices for antique tables

Hi,
My wife and I are looking for an antique table to go in the dining room of our old house. We've narrowed our search to something like a oak, hastings table that can be extended to 10+ feet for events. While searching the web, we see wildly different prices for similar items. One table was listed for almost $10k and a similar table for less than $3k.

Does anyone have suggestions about to how to approach this search? Do some dealers just have huge markups that can be negotiated down? Or have they done an incredible amount of restoration that justifies the higher price? Or are there real differences between items that we just aren't appreciating in our quick, online search?

Any insight appreciated.
Thanks,
OldPhillyHouse
