Windows 10 wants a password to open

I have had Windows 10 for several months and never needed a password to sign in to my administrator account. I just installed the anniversary edition and also visited the Windows store to down load a couple of apps. Now, every time I boot up my computer, I must sign in with a password (the MS account password). This is such an annoyance. Never before in all my years of using different Windows operating systems have I been required to use a password to open Windows. Please tell me how to avoid having to do this. If possible, give written instructions - no videos, please Thanks so much.

Type netplwiz and click "OK"
Uncheck "Users must enter a username and password to use this computer."

Yes, that did work, but it really doesn't get rid of the necessity for a password; it just automatically enters the password. I guess it's better than nothing. Formerly I had the welcome screen with my name and picture, and that's what I'd like to revert to.
Perhaps I'll just do away with my MS account altogether.
You will need to switch back to a local account, don't go deleting the MS account just yet.

Eventually, I'll get around to setting up a new local account, and I think I will also do away with the MS account since I don't use Outlook, nor do I need apps from the store. I can always get apps I want at the Google store, using Chrome.
That's what I was wondering about and why I said not to delete the MS account because of not being able to use the aps etc...
I use Win 10 (hate it!), but never set up a Windows account. I do not want one and have no interest in their Apps.
I do not have to enter anything to go on my computer.

I have a windows 10 laptop on which I never set up a Windows account, and it has never asked for a password. So the Windows account is the culprit. This laptop has a touch screen, so Windows 10 is a perfect system for it. Yes, I do still use a mouse much of the time, too.
Somehow or other, I finally got my desktop back to a local account, and now it is opening with my picture and name and no mention of a password. So I'm happy now.
When using the windows store in windows 10, always select "log into this app only" so you can keep your local account. When I enabled cortana I had the same problem.
On a slightly different track, you are far safer doing your day to day use of the machine using a local non-administrator account. Always using an administrator account could allow installation of malware whereas a non-administrator user would be prompted for the admin password.
pima is correct, but windows automatically enables UAC which stops programs from installing without user consent.
