Tomato sandwiches for a crowd?
Yes. BLT or tomato sandwich. In my part of the country, the object of growing tomato is to have the first big tomato with a slice large enough to cover the entire slice of bread. Similar to the idea of having a square tomato to cover regular sliced bread. Now who would do THAT??
BLT's are delicous with lots of tomato. Another delicous idea: chop tomato. Add cubed fresh monzerrela, a little bit of salt and pepper, and some dried oregano (or fresh, but chop it first). There. Quick side dish. I make it all the time, and it's delicous. Also, you can make homemade salsa (chopped red onion, diced tomatillos, diced tomato, salt and pepper). I love homemade salsa in the summer. I make it out of my garden fresh tomatoes too.
Panzanella salad.
BLT for sure. But if not, I would hollow it out and fill it with something that you could bake.

It looks lovely. I'd use a more compact one for a BLT and make a salad as suggested above with this huge one. Warm-room temperature, sun warmed, with a bit good olive oil, tender basil, mozzarella di buffalo, bit of balsamic vinegar, sea salt, freshly grated pepper.
Perfect for a big bowl of panzanella! Out here it hasn't been hot enough the last couple of weeks to want a cold salad, but I'm sure we'll have a heat spell again in a week or so. I'm miserable for four days and look for the lightest things to eat, LOL.
Then the coastal fog comes back in and it's back to hot dishes again. The tomatoes this year have been excellent - we get ours from the store, too cold to grow them in our garden. Even the cherry tomatoes have been flavorful, which doesn't always happen. The heirlooms are just starting to come onto the market with real flavor, this past couple of weeks.

What a whopper! My husband would eat that on his own with a light vinaigrette and be very happy.

Thanks everyone. Thanks for the suggestions. They all sound very good.
The slices are so big, each will cover two slices of bread for a BLT.
I didn't want to chop it up to make a salad. Here was what I decided to do.
The concept is to come up with a reasonable way to showcase the geometry of the tomato. I thick sliced it into slabs and treated the slices like steaks.
The seeds were removed to make a sauce. The slices were put into the dehydrator for above an hour to dry the surfaces up to make them better for quick frying.
Powdered crispy duck skin, duck meat and bread crumbs filled the seed cavities and quick fried in duck fat.
Now I am waiting for the next biggie from the garden to play with.

nerdy, it looks too red to be a Mortgage Lifter, they are more dark pink. At least mine are.
Whatever it is, it's one beautiful tomato!

Loooks and sounds SO GOOD!
Must be a good year for tomatoes. Mine look like that. I weighed the last one and it was 1.25 pounds! I love how one slice covers the bread and then some. I'm on to roasting at this point. I've had my fill of BLTs. For now.

None. I just bury all kitchen scraps, 100%, meat and bones
included.

I have no idea what variety it was. The marker I used on the
plant tag was not water proof. So everything got mixed up.
