marriage.

a new statement the reality star said: 'I have been the biggest hypocrite ever.
While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several
years been viewing pornography on the internet and this became a secret
addiction and I became unfaithful to my wife.
His
parents Jim Bob and Michelle also released a brief statement saying; 'When we
learned of this late last night our hearts were broken.
A
Duggar family insider spoke to People, saying; 'We're all hunkered down over
here. It's just a mess, it's a whole mess. We don't even know what the truth is
anymore. It's insane.'
I feel bad for his wife. I don't think his wife will leave him but forgive him. And he is a hypocrite.
I don't know what they mean 'we don't know what to believe' - the truth is what Josh Duggar put out to the media - that's the only 'truth' they have. The whole family is a mess, imho.
Think about it- after the news broke that he molested 4 of his own sisters, plus another girl, his victim sisters and parents went on national tv to defend him.
All the while, Josh knew he was cheating on is wife.
He's one sick puppy, and a coward.
Sick puppy and I am really worried about if there has in fact also been more instances of sexual abuse to under age girls. If this is coming out what else is there?
I am shocked about the Jared scandal too. I was not expecting him to be involved just the other guy but boy that doesn't seem to be the case. What the heck is wrong with these people!
I wonder how many more celebrities we will see exposed with the AshleyMadison hack.
Part of me feels like I should be upset that private info was hacked and exposed but I am not upset.
You choose to have an affair, you deserve to be exposed for the selfish person you are.

Josh Duggar, I feel so very sorry for his wife and children. He also single handedly destroyed the Duggar empire.
Jared, the Subway guy, I didn't expect this either.
What I find most disturbing is that these men marry and have kids. Many will go on to molest their own children. Very sad.
Ashley Madison is a very odd site in that the people who go on it are married, or looking for someone who is already married. I'm not sure if I care about this one or not.
I think Jim Boob is to blame for building his empire with a deck of cards. He purposefully concealed Josh's history of molesting his own sisters, all the while telling the world that gays will destroy marriage and transgendered people are perverts.
J. Boob had a whole lot of hubris and thought they were "too big to fail", telling the LGBT community that their protestations only made them more popular with more followers.
My, my how things have changed.
The Duggers need a lot of help. Josh's addiction is not a reflection of the whole family of kids who seemed to turn out well.

And this is why I've never watched any of these "Reality Shows." Between this and the Honey BooBoo scandal, etc. -- I'll stick to watching NCIS and Bluebloods.

This does not seem surprising. If his wife knew about his sexual acting out, then she was naive to think he "just got over it". He had a more than average sexual interest as a pubescent boy. Why would anyone think ya just grow out of these things? Our sexual appetites and preferences are honed with every titillating experience we have. We program ourselves and once programmed like a CD--it is PERMANENT!! This is why porn addictions are RAMPANT. Young people who become sexually active, in ANY FORM, will not be able to sustain monogamy!! They have wired themselves to seek the next sexual thrill. The only way to TRUST, or hope maybe a more accurate way to put it, your love will be FAITHFUL is if they have been practicing chastity i.e. FAITHFULNESS before marriage!!! Humans have ruined themselves, plain and simple.
I have little hope that Anna will leave Josh, not even to protect her little girls.
She's not a bad person. She's been indoctrinated into a cult-like religion, has very little education, life skills. ability to support herself and her children, and connections to the outside world.

Many people experiment sexually in their formative years and then maintain a monogamous relationship. Many don't. You can't generalize like that.

I think Josh is a product of his upbringing to some extent. Having to avert your eyes and stare at your shoes at yell "Nike!" when a burkaless woman walks by just is ridiculous.
Making sex "forbidden fruit", and not being able to even frontal hug, let alone kiss, until marriage is archaic and harmful, even. It can become an obsession when so much emphasis is placed on it.
The way their cult views women is very harmful in so many ways, including and especially that their worth is based on virginity. The way they liken a woman who has had sex partners before marriage to a cup with spit in it is horrifying.
These people built their own pedestals and made a living off gullible viewers. Public piety for gain is prone to kicking believers in the teeth. Tammy Faye Baker, anyone? (Oh, I have forgotten the names of all the other 'good Christians' preying on people while lining their pockets!)
DH has a suggestion for a way for Josh Duggar to rescue the family's TV fortune: "Nineteen Felonies and Counting". The public loves to tear down those it once lifted up.
The sheltered way those kids have been brought up does nothing to satisfy the normal curiosities kids have. Not even being able to have a one on one conversation with a 'date' without a parent is just crazy. I've always found something a bit creepy about good ole Jim Boob anyway. Wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't have his own account at that website. LOL
Anna will never leave Josh. How in the world would she support herself and 4 kids anyway. The whole situation is just really really sad and facts be known I'm betting that Josh isn't the only one of those 19 kids that has 'strayed'
I'm appalled this made the news. The computer hacking and distribution of private information should have all of us worried.
Josh has messed up his future. Not sure where he goes from here. I read where Anna is blaming herself. She is very naive. I feel sorry for her.
She probably does believe that she is at fault, at least partially. No doubt this is a life changing event for them all. I just wonder what other skeletons there are in the Dugger closets. I'm not so sure I even want to know about papa Dugger. I read somewhere that the mom and dad 'teach' the kids how to kiss. That is just creepy if its true. What other life lessons do they teach.
There are any number of reasons why Josh became a sexual deviant. Part of it is genetic but the larger part of it is the environment in which he was raised, I believe. Through work, I have met a person who has known the Duggars for many years - before they were on TV and were just a local freak show. Evidently Michelle Duggar was very loose when she was young (and I make no judgment, as I believe wholly in sexual freedom/empowerment). I say good for her. Nevertheless, she was "known" as one of those girls in the community and fairly insatiably so. Girl was thirsty. Jim Bob was also no virgin when he and Michelle married; they were able to explore their sexuality and then decide for themselves the type of marriage they wanted to have. Good for them.
But, like former smokers hate smoke, suddenly Ma and Pa Duggar hated premarital sex. And venomously so. They began to indoctrinate their kids with fear and self-loathing over perfectly normal feelings. When normal, healthy growth is not only discouraged, but verboten entirely, it will result in kids trying to release and/or experiment in other ways - often unhealthy ways. Jim Bob would tie together the hands of any of the boys who were caught masturbating. That level of suppression combined with the unnatural obsession of his parents with sex is a dangerous combination. Although I am no psychologist, I feel confident in saying Josh developed his sexual hangups because of and in spite of his parents. Josh is f-ed up, no doubt, but I am not convinced he is/was a pedophile in the sense that his basic sexual attraction is to young children. I think his sisters were victimized because he had curiosity that he was unable to explore in normal ways.
Moreover, when there are 19 children around, you cannot give each child the attention she or he deserves. I'd imagine the kids felt like plastic bags in the wind. They had no direction, no one leading them through normal, but difficult, teenage stages. Then being saddled with caring for the younger kids when you yourself have no direction, it's got to be a miserable experience. According to my friend, when Michelle Duggar would come into his place of business, she would not know the kids' dates of birth and would often call them by the wrong names. (Not necessarily a bad thing, but just highlights the absurdity of having 19 children.)
After re-reading this post, it sounds like I'm being a Josh apologist, and I am not. I'm certainly not condoning his behavior, just saying I can understand how and why it developed. Those parents of his are terrible, awful and no good. I'm just waiting for when one of the kids is caught in a homosexual relationship or a bukake or anything in between. With 19 kids, odds are at least one of them is going to be gay or unafraid of exploring sexuality freely. For those weaker spirits, I fear the suppression and now the heightened attention may lead one of them to an early death at his or her own hands.
I don't think Josh is a true pedophile either. His sisters were the females available in his life at that age. He didn't have other outlets either.
I'm finding the extramarital sex interesting. I'm wondering if, as a part of his cure, he was taken to a prostitute or something??? How does a guy like that who has been so insulated from outside life and sin just get online and start looking for sex partners? There is a lot more to this story.
They actually mentioned on the show one time that the two of them (parents) had been tempted by the flesh so to speak and had not lead a christian counsel and that was the reason behind their strictness with the kids.

My version of Christianity is you are saved by faith but if you keep saying forgive me but it wasn't really "in your heart" God knows that. You cannot profess forgiveness and continue to sin (I don't believe every sin is equal). I also as a Christian believe Jewish believers are saved.....Jesus was Jewish and I can't seem to condemn them. I know it is cliche and I try to never judge but ....wtf are we to judge?

entered a 'faith-based rehab' to be treated for sex addiction in the wake of
further revelations about his sordid private life.
In a statement
the reality star parents Jim Bob and Michelle wrote that their oldest son would
be at the center long-term, saying he had: 'brought great insult to the values
and faith we hold dear.'
They wrote: 'As parents we are so
deeply grieved by our son’s decisions and actions. His wrong choices have
deeply hurt his precious wife and children and have negatively affected so many
others.'
Thanking their fans for an
'outpouring of love, care and prayers', they called the series of increasingly
shocking revelations about their son a 'difficult situation'.
The Duggars explained of their
son: 'For him it will be a long journey toward wholeness and recovery. We pray
that in this he comes to complete repentance and sincere change.'
The 27-year-old's decision to
seek treatment came as a porn star told InTouch of how she twice had 'scary
rough' sex with Duggar while his wife was pregnant with their fourth child.
In their statement Jim Bob and
Michelle pledged their support to their son's wife and his four children.
'We will be offering our love,
care and devoted support to Anna and our grandchildren as she also receives
counsel and help for her own heart and future,' they wrote.

I read it as Jim Bob and Michelle detailing their disappointment in their son and their grief, holding him responsible for his actions, while saying that they will be devoted to Anna and their grandchildren. I don't read it as them speaking for him. He's spoken for himself. And, from what Jim Bob and Michelle have said publicly, they're devastated.
Why is any of that pathetic? Seems pretty normal and respectable to me.

I keep thinking MILLIONS of porn rags are sold every month. Could Josh be the only one buying this trash? Of course not. So who are the other creeps that walk among us (not to mention the people in those rags). And only a handful of cheaters in the USA? Josh never claimed to be better than anyone and he certainly has dug his hole pretty deep, as well as so many, many others. I think its sad that Christians who have never claimed to be above anyone are the first ones picked out of a line up just because of their religious back ground. I'd like to see that done here with a Muslim who keeps his wife under wraps and uneducated. Won't happen will it? How about talking about sex slavery and who are the criminals there. So many other things I consider important to worry about.
Some of them, like Josh, do claim to be above others through their actions. They actively try to take away the rights of others in the name of their beliefs. Trying to deny equal rights for the gay or transgender community. Not all Christians but some do, like the Duggars.
