Costco scores! Dishes, Aroma cooker...
We went to Costco Sunday, I hate going because we spend money and it's a mad house. But I don't mind so much when I score neat stuff. This time I got a few goodies. Beautiful new every day dishes, the new bpa free safe heavy duty melamine by Laurie Gates. So bright and colorful, I smile when I see them. This works because I can put my other set of dishes in the rv. They were on sale for $20 a set, awesome price because I saw them on Amazon for $70.
They also had a new model of my beloved Aroma cooker for only $29.99 amazing price, which includes the slow cooker setting along with the saute and simmer, rice settings and the awesome steaming setting. I use mine weekly especially in the summer since it doesn't make the kitchen hot. You can make a meal with it in 30 minutes. Love it. Mine didn't have the slow cooker setting, so the old one goes to the rv and the wonderful new one lives in the kitchen. So so much more than a rice cooker!
And I found this stuff that was discussed at GW called wet and forget outdoor, it was given good reviews. We have mold growing on the North outside wall from all the rain. This stuff is supposed to take care of that.

Love the dishes. We saw them a while back. I furnished our RV with older household stuff too. I have 2 slow cookers in the Rv because sometimes we get some of the kids and families show up. I think all I need as of today, could always change, is new table clothes. Are you planning an exciting trip somewhere?
We will be going to Oklahoma in the next month or so probably to see my husband's mother and family.
We are also planning a trip to Toledo bend campgrounds to meet with my neice where she has her rv parked.

Susan - I have a membership to Costco. I could check to see if they have the same model at the same price and bring it to Milford. I tied to find it on their web site but there weren't any matches.

Good idea, Ruthie. I don't see that model, but it made me think about the size. They have an 8-cup model, which would make more sense for me since I'm cooking for one most of the time. I would have made excellent use of the 20-cup size when my three kids were growing up. We ate a lot of rice (among other things)!

I use mine to cook a full meal in mine. We always have leftovers for lunch or another meal and salad. I have never seen the 8 cup model. There's many many models and they look alike. The options you definitely want are the saute and simmer, steam, and slow cooker. This model has all of them. I have never seen it at Walmart or any other stores, my other one was from my sister and she ordered hers and mine from Amazon. On the aroma site they have a recipe section, you can even make cakes and deserts. I use it all the time, you can make good breakfast in it too and awesome steam boiled eggs.
It is not a pressure cooker but it does seal well and there is a degree of pressure involved. I have never seen any of the good electric pressure cookers for that cheap. I had look at a multi cooker with pressure cooker option but it was over a hundred dollars. Every one in my family has at least one aroma they last. I have actually only cooked rice a couple of times in mine, I have another small aroma rice cooker I usually use for just the 2 of us.
I have created a bunch of recipes for a whole meal in the aroma, I am definitely willing to share them. My sister's and I do that plus I ordered a really good cook book for the cookers.
The price at Costco is excellent I have never seen any with those features for so cheap. And a good thing to know is aroma sells replacement parts, I broke, actually my husband did, the lock on the lid and I emailed them, they called me and said that they could send me a new lid for $8,had it still been under warranty it would be free. I got it the next day and it took me about 10 minutes to complete the job, super easy and now I know how to remove the lid for special cleaning.
By the way this is a cool touch cooker it doesn't get hot except the top vent and when you open it. This would be a wonderful gift for a kid going to college. They can do everything from heating up food to making soup and pasta dishes in one easy to clean pot. The top locks shut and has a handle so it's easy to transport the food.
omg saw those and did that take me back to when we first had children and slowly they broke my cherished stoneware....so we went plastic....

Raven, I bought the Aroma cooker at Costco. Great Price!! You mentioned recipes, would you mind sharing your favorites? I have not used a slow cooker in years, but would like to start up again. Thank you!

Rice Cooker Meals
I just started a new recipe thread with several of my tried and true Aroma cooker recipes.
this is the cookbook I have . According to the user manual with the new Aroma cooker the slow cooker on it would be used as the high slow cooker setting on any recipes no low setting option.
