Natura Pillows

I purchased a queen size at the recommendation of the folks on the HD forum. I do love it. I was allergic to feathers as a child (probably dust mites, actually) and always had a foam rubber pillow. That was in the days before synthetic foam and it was a natural foam. I am really enjoying having one again. I purchased mine from:

They give some option to offer a lower price than what is listed (as you proceed to check out). Can't remember how much i paid, but it was closer to $100 or less. When I was googling to try to find this site again, a bunch of things came up called Natura Memory Foam Pillow....the one I have is NOT memory foam, which I would not want.

I purchased and love them. After one of my granddaughters and my daughter tried them here at the house, they fell in love with them. So I ordered a set for each of them. My daughter said she is carrying them with her whenever she travels, she loved them so much.

I have talalay solid latex pillows that are wonderful, mine are not that brand. There are several good brands. I don't think I will ever use anything other than a full latex pillow. They are excellent for side sleepers. Love my latex.

raven, is yours solid or shredded?

Solid only I don't care for the shredded. They all have the little air holes in the solids.

We currently have Tempur-Pedic Pillows so I wonder if anyone knows how these compare to them. Sorry for all the questions but I want to get this right.

I don't know if there's anything different about Natura, but as Raven mentioned, latex pillows are made by many different manufacturers. if price matters, you might be able to pay a lot less than what Natura charges.

I can add that latex and memory foam (which I assume the Tempur-Pedic is) are completely different. To put it in the simplest terms, you can bounce on latex. :-)

Gramma, yes, that is the Natura Ultimate pillow I have. They don't compare with Tempur-Pedic pillows at all. The latex pillows are springy and soft but very supportive. I think the Tempur-Pedic pillows are hard, hot, and hurt the ear I'm sleeping on.

Keep in mind that the loft of the Ultimate is pretty high. If you're a petite person with narrow shoulders, you might want to get the low-loft Ultimate. I have the regular one and I love it, it's perfect, but I'm also 5'9" and have broad shoulders and a very hour-glass shape, so the regular Ultimate with the higher loft suits me well.

The loft is like the firmness in a mattress kind of. I am a side sleeper so I need a pretty good loft to support my neck and head. If you sleep on your back you probably want a lower loft so your neck is not kinked forward but instead more level with your body. So it depends on how you sleep and how supportive you want it to be.

I bought my solid Latex pillows for the rv at bed bath and beyond. They are very good quality and reasonable price. The thing to know about those is that no where on the package does it tell you the loft, but on the actual pillow itself imprinted into the latex is a number, each number represents a step up in loft. So a 1 is lower than say a 6. You have to take them out of the plastic bag and the zipper cloth cover and look along the edge to find it's number. Very time consuming. The highest I found was a 6. I think mine are either a 4 or 5. I could have gone higher but I didn't want to get it too tall. Laying on them is the best test but not always able to do that. You can return them to bed bath and beyond if you do it quickly. Plus using the 20 % off coupon saves you a lot. I bought one with my coupon and husband bought one with another coupon.

We are both side sleepers so maybe the high loft would be better. I am just going to have to bite the bullet and make up my mind.

I use a latex pillow which has done away with my aching neck. As to the loft, I opted for one denser (higher) than suggested. Cynical ol' me thinks they suggest the lighter ones so you have to go back to buy another pillow in only a couple of years.

I also meant to say that latex and memory foam are completely different so no real comparison there. I dislike memory foam it gets way too hot for me. I have a memory foam pillow that makes my head sweat so badly I had to wrap a towel around either my head or my pillow! Latex will bounce back to it's shape immediately, memory foam does not, it will hold the shape of what ever was on it and release back slowly.

I bought a memory foam from Sam's Club a few years ago and brought it home and put it down to test it, it went back to Sam's the next day! HA! It was like lying on a brick. I put my head down on it for about three seconds...NOT FOR ME!

If the pillows from BBB are so much cheaper, why not just buy from there instead of spending over a $100 per pillow? I saw BBB are $30 for standard size. Are these good pillows, the cheapskate in me thinks I'll try them with a coupon...OF COURSE! :)

The ones at bbb are talalay latex and they are good quality mine have held up very very well. For the difference in price I will definitely go with them. I did buy the king size ones and I did buy the claritin zipper covers for them because I have bought those before and like them. The zipper cover that comes on them is fine, 100% cotton, I just like the other better. In general if they are the solid latex with the little holes in them they are going to be talalay latex or a mix of that and dunlop which is also ok. But I did research the actual manufacturer of those at bbb and found their info. I however have since totally forgotten who it was lol. Slept since then.

Has anyone heard of Dunlopillo brand. We purchased 2 of them many, many years (10 Years) ago and.... umm embarrassed to say we still have them. They are incredible pillows but we cannot find them anywhere anymore. When bought them, they had a 10 year warranty and they were all natural latex. They are incredibly clean, stay clean and have kept their shape but the medium firmness is beginning to break down. Hands down the best $100.00 we spent on each pillow ever! We actually purchased them instead of the Natura brand because of some research back in the day but are definitely game to purchasing Natura should anyone give us an honest opinion of the quality of their latex.

the name "Dunlopillo" implies that they were/are made via the Dunlop method of producing the latex for the pillow, versus the Natura Talalay method. From what I've read, the Dunlop method produces a firmer latex and is better for mattresses and sofa and chair cushions, while the Talalay is spongier and better for pillows. But, if you loved the Dunlop style, you might find the Talalay softer than you like. It's very supportive, though. I've had my Natura Ultimate Talalay pillow for five years now. The latex isn't breaking down, but I would say the loft of the pillow has gone down a bit, but only a smidgeon. Love that word, "smidgeon". It's a good word.

I am just reporting back in. I received the Natura Pillow a couple of days ago and am loving it. However, I do think I am going to go ahead and order a smaller one as this is a just a little higher than I am used to. If the smaller one is too small for me I have someone that I know will love it and I will continue with this one.

Also, I can now see the difference between latex and the memory foam I have been using. Thank you to all who helped me with this. I really appreciate it.

I received mine late last week and love it. I let my husband sleep on it last night and he ordered his own today. Yikes, I hope it doesn't turn into a pillow fight tonight!
