I see it too.

I took this Saturday at a post wedding outdoor brunch our next door neighbors gave. This big guy flew in and landed on a vase with some bridesmaid's flowers in it. Don't know what is is, but it sure was big.

Thanks for the video, Taigen. Great job getting all those shots of the chrysalis-in-progress. The little metallic gold ornamentation has always fascinated me. It must be there for a purpose; I wonder what it is.

Jodi, that's a scarab beetle. They show up this time of year. They're not very good flyers, but their iridescent color is lovely. I think they are not very long-lived either.
