Where to end a tricky backsplash

_007_December 19, 2012

We're in the process of putting up a backsplash in our kitchen, and have a tricky "cubby like" area to the left of our stove I'm wondering if we should tile. I'm leaning towards no...thinking it would make the longer counter space to the right of the stove look more complete.

Hard to tell in this picture, but to the right of the stove there's a corner. Currently the backsplash is wrapping around that corner. I'm just unsure of the space to the left of the stove.

Sorry for the horrible picture quality...old cell phone!

I'm confused. I don't see a stove in your photo. I see a wall oven, a cooktop with a cutout in the wall behind it and a hood over it, and part of a microwave. Which area are you asking about?

It looks like you have a 4" backsplash from the counter that comes up, right? If so, then my thought would be to keep it consistent and anywhere that you have that 4" piece-- tile above it.

I think you might need some more pictures for us to really get an idea of the space. And move the stuff from the counters when you photograph that area so we can really see.

What kind of backsplash are you doing?
