have you glued a stainless backsplash to the wall?

JamieDecember 28, 2012

Yourself? A ready-made one, say from Frigo Designs?
(I'm talking over the range only)

How hard was it? How does it look?

I know I'd fall into every trap there is, and I don't have "the vision", but it seems like a good option?

I found a stainless shelf with a gallery rail on it (BOOS) so my things won't fall off the edge. The backsplash is the last piece of the puzzle.

I could have gone with the bluestar high shelf, which attaches to the back of the range, but I wanted sides on the shelf and also it cost a full third of the price of the range, which I objected to.

Thanks for any advice you have.

What you are describing needs to be screwed to the wall. Not glued. Drill a couple of holes in the corners and then use some wall anchors. Heavy duty wall anchors if you anticipate putting heavy stuff on the shelf. Replace the standard screws with stainless ones and add in a small washer.

I was going to hire someone to hang the shelf, actually. But I wondered if I could glue the backsplash myself.
