backsplash question again

palomalouNovember 18, 2012

A fire-proof (fire-resistant?) backsplash is required behind a high power gas range. I have one--fine. But--does it have to go to the floor, or only the above-range area? I don't want to move the range to find out! Thanks!

Ether 6" or 10" (I forget which) below the top of the range is what's been recommended here on GW (based on range manufacturers' recs).
