Bosch DW door question - won't stay open.

Mom23EsOctober 23, 2012

The carpenter accidentally used our DW cabinet panel as a decorative end panel on the mudroom cabinet. It's a fantastic free upgrade on the mudroom, but now it's going to be 10 days until a replacement door panel arrives. I can't tell if my problem is just because of the missing panel or if something else needs adjusted. My door won't stay open! Is there a spring that needs adjusted or will this problem solve itself with the addition of the panel?

It won't stay open without the panel attached. It needs the weight to counter balance the spring.

Some folks put a piece of plywood on the door temporarily to make up for the weight until the real panel can be installed.
