Any thoughts on the Dacor DR30D?

KevinMPSeptember 10, 2012

Anyone have any thoughts on the Dacor DR30D (natural gas)? I've been researching for a while, and I've settled on this model as the one with the best look, best footprint (with no handle obtrusion), self-cleaning, and price (currently Dacor is offering $300 off plus 3 year full warranty extension for free).

I know Dacor may have had a sketchy past, but that's how all of these appliances are. My parents had Dacor in the house I grew up in and our beach house and they've had Thermador and now Wolf. Problems with all of them, but seems they've had the least number of problems with the Wolf. But I cannot justify doubling paying thousands more.

My other option is a great deal on a brand new, boxed DCS 30" range (which has 5 burners and the full extension gliding racks), but I like the look of the Dacor better.

I am getting a Dacor gas cooktop installed. My appliance lady steered me to it from another brand in the same price range because she said the Dacor cooktops have some type of finish that's easier to clean. The reviews of the range you're looking at look good.

I don't have the exact model you are looking at; but I have 2 of the Dacor 30 inch electric ovens - the ones with the "ledge style" handle. They have been great so far (almost 6 months).

I have a Dacor Renaisance 36 inch gas cooktop and I absolutely love it. It has been installed for 10 months now and has been problem free. The burners are so much more powerful than my previous range. Two of the burners have a simmer feature that is fabulous. I agree with you, the DR30D is a great looking range.
