Double wall oven

karle13September 2, 2013

Hi there, We are redoing a kitchen and have decided to go with lg appliances! But, the double wall oven has not such good reviews! We cannot afford a wolf, or Viking, need to stay in budget ! Would you do a GE profile, or Kitchenaide? Thank you for any advise or any other recommendations!!

I have GE Profile double ovens - but they're the Trivection/Convection ovens that are now only available via GE Monogram.

The convection oven, though, is the same as the ovens in the GE Profile double convection ovens. Personally, I really like GE Profile cooking appliances. (Other types of appliances, not so much (like DW) - but they do seem to make good cooking appliances.)

Are they on par with the high-end appliances from Miele, etc.? No (except maybe Viking in some case). However, I think they're very good mid-level appliances.

We had a GE Profile Convection Range in our old kitchen (bought in 1995) that still worked perfectly and looked great 13 years later when we remodeled. We donated it to a family in need through our church. (We heard through the grapevine that they were excited to get (1) a range in such great shape - including the documentation and video that came with it and (2) a convection oven in the range!)

Because of our great experience with that range, we got the GE Profile double ovens and a GE Profile cooktop. If we could have afforded it, I probably would have gotten the Miele ovens, but they were out of our budget.

I get the impression that GE appliances are not favored on this forum but I have had very good experiences with my past and current GE appliances. I do not have the double wall oven but I do have the single wall oven with the Advantium Speed cook oven above it. I have been using them for almost 2 years now without any issues. I find that both perform as exactly as they should. I am not sure how a higher end oven could bake or roast any differently than the GE profile ovens I have.

I went with Kenmore Elite. At first I was going to get just regular ovens, but right before I was ready to buy they had a big sale. So for less money I got convection. Love them so far! Have been a cooking and baking maniac in them. I was thrilled to get double ovens in my remodel!
