protecting wood chair sides from hard counter

triptakersAugust 28, 2013

Hi! Just finishing our kitchen remodel, and the quartz countertops went in yesterday, which prompted me to find counter stools today :-)
Here's what I got, but am already concerned that since they swivel, the wood sides on the back will get super-dented by the quartz counter. Is there anything I can do to "toughen up" the wood in that area of each chair back? Or some sort of way to protect them?
Thanks!

Determine where they are likely to hit and put on clear rubber bumpers. The kind you use on doors and drawers.

Fori is not pleased

Coooooooooooooooooooooooool!

I think Debrak is saying put the bumpers on the counter, not the chair. That's what I'd do.

Or I'd set them back far enough so they won't bang and yell at anyone who moves them. (Doesn't work for my family but it might work for yours! :P)

No actually I meant on the chairs. I know that some on GW have done this. Let me see if I can find photos.

Found the thread of was thinking of.

Here is a link that might be useful: clear bumpers on bar stools
