What is the general rule for a dining room table accessory?

tjolleyNovember 19, 2012

I just purchased a HUGE dough bowl this past weekend at the Renniger's Antique Extravaganza. I am debating on whether it is too big for my table. Is there a general rule of thumb for how big something should be if placed

In the center compared to the length? Wasn't sure if I was just over obsessing. I tend to go too small and now I think I have went too big!

Thanks in advance for your advice!

As long as your guests can comfortably and clearly see each other across the table there are no rules.

I always remove whatever decorations I have on the table, other than candles , when there are guests. I want room for the food and plates etc. No decor for me. I love to have bowls etc all the rest of the time so you can probably use whatever you bought...post a pic so we can see. I love wooden dough bowls ! c
