Can someone tell me how to get rid of these pesky popups? They are so annoying!
This has already been brought up, you are not the only annoyed one! Admin said they were trying to work on it.
Are you using a pop up blocker? I don't get any pop ups but use Google Chrome with the ad blocker.
Thanks greenhaven. And debrak, this is the only site that I get pop ups!
On Ipad it was just ridiculous last week when the hyper links, that had been turned into mini boxes became jumbo boxes..I paid 1.99 for an App...and the bonus is, all of my game apps marketing ads are gone now too..so worth the 1.99 plus tax... Lol
I've been using Firefox with Adblock + for years. In fact it was Gardenweb's obnoxious ads that made me switch. That was close to 10 years ago, and I haven't seen an ad since.
If you're on an iPad, there are alternate browsers you can use that block ads. I use Atomic, but there are others.
I just realized that I only get them on my cell phone and ipad. I've been reading/posting for 45 minutes on my trusty laptop without one popup! Terri, what was the app you bought?
Yep that one. ^^^^^^^^^^^^ up there..
On the last thread I mentioned I had no popups on any device or pc. The silicon gods must have heard, for now I am inundated. It will now be ad blocker for me, too.
I use Chrome with Adblock and I have no idea what these pop ups you speak of.
I bought the ap, and can't get it turned on. Or something. LOL. Figures! So I only do GW on my Mac now. :-(
I had trouble with the setup as well. I don't think the instructions are clear. Something that is greyed out is supposed to get pasted, but it doesn't look right to me. Oh well, I'll get my tech support guy on it later. Seems it should be easier. I have no idea what to do with those filters anyway.

I only use mobile devices. At this point, I refuse to purchase an app to read forums. I just 'go away' and read other sites when looking for information. GW can be addictive, but I learned how to break other bad habits in my life. The popups cover so much of the text, it's not worth all the maneuvering to try to get around the popup.
