We just chose white cabinets - and want a dark countertop - if you have this combination would you please share what your countertop is ...
And pictures if possible. Thanks!
Here is mine. I have white cabs and a dark brown island. I have read enough to know that some people hate busy granite but I kept the kitchen simple and used the granite for the wow factor. I had initially planned to use bianco antico but the slabs that were available when I was choosing had too much gold and yellow. This one is azul aran and it has beautiful sections with what looks like mother of pearl as well as chunks of crumpled copper paper beneath the surface. There is also a slight blue grey undertone that ties in with my plan.
I have white cabs with blue pearl granite on the perimeter. The island is navy blue with statuary marble.
Another blue pearl here.
We have white cabinets with Caesarstone Raven counters.
Paperstone in chocolate on perimeter (sorry the pic shows more of the island top than the perimeter top):
Soapstone with white cabs.
White cabinets with Caesarstone wild rice.
These are great! Choosing is apparently going to be a real issue!
My cabinets are beige and my perimeters are Black Galaxy. We're obviously not finished, but you can see the contrast.
Hey cheryleb - do you know what color your cabinets are? I l'm going for that look, not too yellow or too bright. Thanks!
Frosty white cabs with Leathered Antique Brown granite
Wow,there are some great photos here! Fsteph, sanjuangirl, and erhm love your backsplash. Love that soapstone! Do you find it to be low or high maintenance?
My granite is New Venetian Gold, my cabinets are BM Canvas
Our kitchen redo is a work in progress and definitely a modest, budget kitchen. We have Schrock white maple cabinets and we went with Wilsonart HD slate. What I like about the pattern we chose is it does not really look like it is trying to be something other than laminate (despite its name- slate)...yet still is pretty and interesting. The old laminate that was in here that looked like fake wood---actually had no damage and we have been here 27 years, so I was not afraid of laminate being damaged very easily. Also a stainless steel backsplash---my "dream " kitchen would have marble! Next we have to do the floor and put in the white plantation shutters,,,
Anyway...white and black...
2nd pic- will be getting wood floor and plantation shutteres
It would be tough to get more dark & light contrast than we did for our 2009 kitchen reno.
Cabs are BM Gardenia.
Countertops are Blue In The Night Granite.
Floors are Montauk Black Slate.
Here's a shot.
I'm also attaching a link to a slideshow to give you a better idea.
