Bullnose tiles or trim for finished edge to backsplash

maxee123May 30, 2013

Not sure if this is a dumb question or a common situation.
For a finished look to a backsplash using handmade 3x6 subway tile, do you finish the top and side edges with bullnose tiles or a matching trim/molding tile?
To be more concise: there are two areas where the tile meets the wall and needs a finished look.
Thanks so much for your advice!

When tile has no trims available, it can be mitered to return to the wall to provide a more finished look.

We used bullnose. I really wanted to do custom pencil liner but when we got the quote from our tile place, it blew the budget completely. I thought I would hate it because it didn't match my inspiration backsplash, but honestly it looks complete and I rarely think about it these days. I think either works fine; just depends on your budget and your options.
