Do concrete kitchen counters crack?

zagyzebraMay 18, 2013

I really had my heart set on poured concrete kitchen counters, but my contractor said, "No. Don't do it. They crack too easily." I would really like to hear from those who have years of experience with concrete counters, what the pros and cons are.

If they aren't properly supported, they will crack
If the house settles, they will crack
If the mix is wrong, they will crack
If they aren't cured right, they will crack

And they etch and stain unless you coat them with a film forming sealer which makes them look like plastic.
