Christmas lights connection -ok to use electrical tape?

pbx2_gwDecember 8, 2013

I have to hang some lights on trees in front of the house & have to connect to extension cords that run back to the house.

Can I use electrical tape to wrap the various connections (to cord or on adapters) to prevent moisture intrusion or shorts?

Electrical tape will work, but it will be gummy and fun to remove. They make a stretchy adhesive free tape (it sticks to itself but not to other stuff) commonly called "rescue tape" which might end up being more convenient.
