Question about wiring to stainless steel

Eno_MinosDecember 14, 2013

Hello everyone,

I just have a question about wiring to stainless steel. Is welding the best option? Would I need to look for some clip sort of deal? Some more information about the process: I will be connecting a Stainless Steel 304 wire to a Stainless Steel AISI 316L pipe on the inside of the pipe. Also, if you know, would the passivation layer on the stainless steel go away if I were to weld? Thanks for any and all help.

Just what "wiring" are you making to the stainless. If you're doing something like bonding stuff around a pool, the usual way is to use some mechanical (drilled hole) fitting.
