3 way wiring

danausNovember 5, 2013

I am replacing a garage light, one of two on a three way switch. I forgot to look at the wiring when taking out the old light and now have two whites, two blacks and a red wire I am not sure how to hook up. It worked on the previous light so I assume it is wired correctly. Help would be appreciated

The old light should have had two wires hooked to it. Are you saying that you unhooked wires that were connected to other wires in the box that do not go directly to the lamp socket?
