Ceiling fan lights part 2

diggerb2October 6, 2009

on Sept 24 i posted a question about my ceiling fan lights.

i turned off the circuit, used a paper clip to pull up the

tab at the bottom of the socket so that the bulbs made better contact-- this worked for 2 of the 4 sockets. one socket wasmn't having problems. the other socket still has issues. the entire socket twists and is a bit wobbley when jiggled the light will come on but doesn't stay on-- obviously electricity is there.

so what do i need to do next? while i was at Lowe's i noticed that they sell light sockets-- do i need to buy one and replace the one that is in the fixture and make sure that it is 'tight'?

much thanks so far for the help.

for those that asked: no dimmer on the fixture. lights

and fan are on a single switch and then you use the pull chains to turn on or off the fan or lights as needed

Sounds like you need to replace the lamp holders. You might call the manufacturer of the fan to see if replacements are available rather than trying to find an off the shelf solution.
