This is neither here not there, but in case you don't know, Agway farm stores have been around for a long time.
If you have a use for the genet, fix the carb. You are probably going to want to set the governor adjusted to 3600 rpm to get the frequency right. The investment is pretty minimal.
Actually, you would set the speed based on the number of poles in the generator. And as big as that thing is I wouldn't assume 2 poles.
