pool pump wiring question

suenjoeJuly 2, 2010

Wiring disconnected in the junction box before the timer for an inground pool pump. One white wire, one black wire, one ground come from supply. A black wire and a red wire go to the timer for the pump. Do you hook up black to black and white to red?

Check your breaker in the main circuit panel. If you have a double breaker with black on one and white on the other, then yes.

Something is illegal in this situation if only the wire markings. I suggest you have someone who can figure out what is really happening look at things.
