will this work OK?

I have my part of a telephone NID.

The wires going to a jack are:

blue with white markings

white with blue markings

I'd like to take a corded phone and hook it to my part of the NID.

I'd like to hook:

red > blue with white markings

green > white with blue markings

Will this work OK? Kind of a troubleshooting device.

Yes, some real old phones might have problems if you get that backwards so just reverse the red and green.

The Blue/White and While/Blue is the first pair in wiring done with that sort of marking (followed by the Orange and White, Green and white...).

On the individual jack wiring red/green is the first pair, black/yellow is the second.
