AltoonaPAJune 6, 2013

I am installing a new doorbell button... Button works well. Except when I install the bulb... It triggers continuous chimes. Help?

Sounds like you may be connecting a lighted button, designed for a low voltage AC coil type doorbell, to an electronic chime type doorbell.

The low resistance of the light bulb's internal filament acts like a closed switch.

See if the chime's owner's manual has any suggestions regarding this type of connection.

I'm thinking mine is an electronic unit... : Wireless Doorbell Extender. Checked the manual and called the company... No suggestions. Thoughts?
