Do I have to seal stained Oak trim?
I am in the process of remodelling a 1970's home in the woods of Wisconsin. There is a nearby woodmill and we have purchased all of the oak window and door trim as well as the baseboard and crown molding from them for the whole house. I now have to stain it all and my question is....do I have to seal it after it has been stained? And if so, why? And what would be the best product to use as to not spoil the look that I have achieved with the gel stain that I have used? It looks perfect right now. I want it to continue to look perfect when it is installed.
