what kind of wood for staircase?

building a new house. Need to choose what kind of wood I want for the staircase. A previous house I had had cherry stairs and they were nice. I am still not sure what wood flooring I will choose. Some options I have for stairs are oak maple walnut or cherry or any other. What do you all think?

I would make it the same as your floors, unless you have carpet. Can't go wrong with Oak.
