Stain on Furniture

kmd367November 3, 2012

I was once told that rubbing shellac on a stain on a table will cover the stain. I tried it but the shellac formed a smudge on the table that is worse than the stain. Can I remove the shellac with something? Thanks

Alcohol. Denatured is best, isopropyl works.

"isopropyl works."

Most isopropyl has at least 10% water (30% is even more common).
Use denatured alcohol.
