Gluing teated lumber

bus_driverNovember 2, 2008

For very light duty outdoor use, I need to edge glue some 3/4 treated lumber to get a width not stocked in local stores. It probably will be ACQ treated. If edge glued with urethane, such as Gorilla glue, is this likely to be satisfactory for permanent weather exposure for low mechanical stress application?

I've used Gorilla glue on PT outdoor applications. After a year it seems to be holding up OK on my large gates. The frame of the gate is made of 2x6 PT w/ rails lap jointed to the stiles- plenty of surface area for gluing and screwing.
