Windows Frosting up Question
We just moved into a 20 year old home. The prior owner was maticulous in documentaing and maintaing everything. He appears to have had built a very good quality Colonial. I even have the specification for the home. It came standard with CrestLine double hung tilt-in windows. We notice the windows do not tilt in but are double hung. A neighbor theorized that the original owner upgraded to Anderson Windows when the home was built and that the Anderson's, while they did not tilt in were a superior quality over the Crestlines. Who knows! Anyway, so far they do not appear drafty and go up and down quite easily. I just raised all the screens and lowered the storm windows. I notice on some mornings some windows have a layer of frost. What causes this? Is there anything I can do about it? Is this how things were back then? Do I need to replace these windows. Thanks!
