why ice on house windows facing north but not others?

There was freezing rain earlier this morning stating at 6AM. Now, at 11AM, all my windows facing north still have ice built up on the outside glass pane that I can not see through the window glasses. On the other hand, those house windows facing east, south or west, appear clear without ice built up outside. Why?

They are new PVC windows with double panes and Low E argon, installed by a construction company about two months ago.

Likely cause of ice on the windows facing North is the windows are doing their job and preventing heat from transferring from the inside through the glass, so the outer piece of glass is cold.

The other windows are getting sun and that is melting the ice on the exterior.
