How to finish poles?

cynandjonOctober 18, 2010

We have poles and beams in our house. I'm not sure what kind of finish they should be treated with. Leaving them natural I think would be hard to clean because of dust etc.

I would appreciate suggestions

thanks,

cindy

WOW! I'm glad I asked. I checked it out and it looks like it might be the ticket. Now I have to locate the product.
Thanks werefinish and aidan.

I have a bean tyhat has been unfinished for 25+ years ... but it is not where hands can touch it, so it never gets dirty.

The uprights, at least need some sort of penetrating low-gloss finish to make the hand grime easier to remove.

Waterlox ... they ship and have a deealer search page:

TY I saved it to my faves. I would leave the beams natural but one is very close to my stove and I'm concerened about grease buildup on it. I think it would be best to make it cleanable.
thanks again
